The E8 Network of Expertise for the Global Environment
1994 Tokyo Summit
The third Summit took place in May 1994, in Tokyo Japan, with both Japan’s e7 utilities, TEPCO and Kansai, hosting the event. The year’s topic for discussion was the e7’s “Actions Towards Sustainable Development”. The
e7 Sustainable Energy Charter and the e7 Sustainable Development Portfolio were signed on May 12, 1994.
e8 Priorities
Major global environmental and social issues that affect the electric utility industry are considered to be the top priorities of the e8.
The issues of sustainable development, climate change, social trust, and internationalisation are the focus of the e8's actions.
