Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) is a vertically integrated and investor-owned utility operating in Metropolitan Tokyo and its surrounding area. With 62.5 GW of installed capacity, TEPCO supplies 297.4 TWh of electricity annually to 28.3 million customers, a third of the total power demand of Japan, with sales revenue of approximately USD 49.1 billion. TEPCO's production capacity is divided as follows: 14% hydropower, 38% natural gas (LNG and LPG), 3% coal, 17% oil and 28% nuclear. The company employs 38,234 people.
