
With nearly 11,000 employees, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is an Ontario-based electricity generation company whose principal business is the generation and sale of electricity in Ontario and to interconnected markets. OPG’s electricity generating portfolio had a total in-service capacity of over 22,000 megawatts, consisting of three nuclear stations, five fossil-fueled stations and 64 hydroelectric stations. OPG also owns two other nuclear generating stations which are leased on a long-term basis to Bruce Power L.P. In 2008, OPG generated 107.8 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity.
