Hydro-Québec (Canada)

Hydro-Québec is a vertically integrated utility that is publicly owned by the Québec government. The company’s 23,000 employees serve over 3.9 million customers in Québec. Total installed capacity (renewables accounting for 97% of generation) from the 59 hydroelectric generating stations, 27 conventional thermal stations, one nuclear station and one wind farm equals 36,429 MW, with total electricity sales of 191,7 TWh. In 2008, Hydro-Québec’s revenues amounted to approximately USD 10,81 billion.
