Dr. Biswas has a PhD in Sustainable Futures from the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. He plans to pursue research at the University of New South Wales, Australia, focusing on the procurement of indigenous renewable energy resources and technologies for purifying water in Bangladesh.

Tania Urmee
Tania Parveen Urmee holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree in Physics from Dhaka University, Bangladesh. She is a Masters student at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, in the Energy Programme. Ms. Urmee’s research involves the use of photovoltaic technology to supply electricity to disadvantaged areas in Bangladesh.

Aniefiok Bassey
Aniefiok Etim Bassey is a practising lawyer with two law degrees from universities in Nigeria. He is undertaking a Master of Laws Programme in Energy and Environment at Tulane University Law School, New Orleans, USA. His research centres on sustainable energy approaches to the exploration and development of energy resources in Nigeria.
Tuan Viet Do
Tuan Viet Do has a Bachelor degree in Architecture of Engineering, Hanoi Architectural University, Vietnam. He is currently a Masters student at University College, London, England, in the Environmental Design and Engineering Programme. Mr. Do’s research focuses on project and implementation planning in the field of sustainable and efficient energy in buildings.
Cecilia Espinosa
Cecilia Espinosa Murga holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Escuela Militar de Ingenieria, La Paz, Bolivia, and is currently a Masters student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her research will examine the pressures of globalisation on weak economies and solutions to overcome these pressures.

Established in 2001 to support outstanding students in advanced studies of sustainable energy development , the e8 Scholarship Programme offers two-year scholarships to Masters and Post-Doctoral students.
