Pallav Purohit

Dr Pallav Purohit, an Indian citizen, was awarded the 2005 Postdoctoral Scholarship to pursue studies at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics in Germany. Dr Purohit holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. His postdoctoral research will focus on CO2 emissions mitigation potential through renewable energy technologies under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in India.

Na Yang

Na Yang
Ms. Na Yang holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Masters degree in Law from Renmin University in Beijing, and a Masters degree in Law from the University of Ottawa. She has been senior editor for university law journals both in Beijing and Ottawa. Ms. Yang has begun a masters programme in Law at the University of Cambridge to study how to formulate enforceable legal measures to promote renewable and energy efficiency resources in China.

Mr. Jaunty Edobor Aidamenbor holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Technology in Akure, Nigera. He has begun a Masters of Science programme in Environmental Pollution Control at the School of Process, Environmental and Material Engineering of the University of Leads in the UK, focussing on environmental impact assessment in the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian economy.

Mulugeta Weldetnsae Beyn

Mr. Mulugeta Weldetnsae Beyn, from Eritrea, will be entering the Postgraduate Programme in Renewable Energy at Oldenburg University in Germany. He will build on his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering by studying photovoltaic energy generation in depth.

Eduardo Díaz Escobar Moreno

Mr. Eduardo Díaz  Escobar Moreno has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Communications Engineering at the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mexico. He has elected to undertake the European Masters in Renewable Energy at EUREC Agency, a network of eight European universities and scientific institutions, and specialise in photovoltaic studies.

Lian Jiang

Ms. Lian Jiang has a Bachelor’s degree from the Remin University of China and diplomas from the Foreign Affairs college and Tianjin University of Science and Technology. She will be studying global environmental policy at the American University, School of International Service, particularly in relation to the promotion of renewable energy use in China.

Paul Ayokuleyin Odukunle

Mr. Paul Ayokuleyin Odukunle, a Nigerian national, has chosen to study environmental engineering at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. With a Bachelors of Technology in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology in Akure, Nigeria, Mr. Odunkunle’s interests lie in the use of large quantities of biogas as an alternative source of sustainable energy.

Junior Kojo Osei-Agyemang

Mr. Junior Kojo Osei-Agyemang, an electrical engineer with a BSc from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, plans to pursue a Masters in Renewable Energy Systems Technology at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. He will examine cost-effective ways to supply electricity, using renewable energy sources, to African rural communities.
